Cut-off

personposition

Definition

The cut-off is a player position at the poker table, seated one position to the right of the dealer button. It is considered one of the late positions in the betting order. The player sitting in the cut-off position has a strategic advantage, as they are among the last to act in a given hand before the button position, making it easier to observe the actions of opponents and make more informed decisions.

The cut-off position allows for a wide range of starting hands, and it's a favorable seat for both stealing blinds and playing strong hands aggressively. Players in this position have the opportunity to adapt their strategy based on the actions of players in earlier positions, as well as the strength of their own hand.
